Mary of Nazareth Catholic welcomes volunteers into the school to help with various activities. To ensure the safety of our students, NO ONE will be allowed to volunteer with out the proper clearances. There will be NO EXCEPTIONS to this rule. Once you have obtained your clearances we would be grateful for your help.

Any event that involves non faculty/staff help with the students.
Volunteers need to complete and pass all six requirements before they can volunteer at Mary of Nazareth Catholic School. There will be no exceptions. It is our job to ensure that the students are in a safe enviroment.
1. Diocesan Online Database
All adults who have regular contact with minors are to complete the Virtus ®Online Safe Environment database.
Go to the website Virtus ®Online Safe Environment database. The access code is the word "protect". Create your username and password. Fill out all the required fields and submit your registration.
2. PA Criminal Record Check
Required for all volunteers, ages 18 and above, who work in ministry with children or teens. Must be renewed every FIVE years. Click Here to obtain at free, volunteer, criminal record check. Once you read the form, click the box, and choose accept, you will be directed to the PA Criminal Record Check online application. Please fill out the requested information. When you receive your clearance, please print it out and bring it to the school office.
3. PA Child Abuse History Clearance
PA Child Abuse History Clearance - Required for all volunteers, age 18 and above, who work in ministry with children. Must be renewed every FIVE years. Clickhere for Online Child Abuse Clearance Application Or print a copy of The Child Abuse Clearance Application Form, fill it out and bring it to the school office.
4. Protecting God's Children
The "Protecting God's Children" workshop is required for all adults, age 18 and up, who wish to volunteer in ministry with children. It is an excellent program that truly equips adults to create safer environments for children. For a list of all Protecting God's Children workshops in our area, click here. 5. Mandated and Permissive Reporting Training Course
Go to the website Registration Page for Mandated and Permissive Reporting Training Course Fill out the required fields to register for the course to get a user name and password. A person can take the course in one sitting or dispersed over time. It takes between 2-3 hours to take the course. The course is completed after the evaluation questions are answered, and the certificate of completion has been printed.
Once you have registered, log back into the site with your newly created username and password. Mandated and Permissive Reporting Training Course Once you have completed the course, you will receive a cerificate of completion. Please print the certificate and bring it to the school office.
6. Required Forms/Acknowledgements
Click the link to "Reporting of Child Abuse and the Child Protective Services Law of PA", read, print the last page, sign and return.
Click the link to "Safe Environments for Children", read the booklet, print the last page (24), sign and return.
Click the link to "Code Pastoral Conduct", read the booklet, print the next to last page, sign and return.
